From time to time there are volunteer opportunities to promote The Support Network or become involved in communications, both internal and external. Our annual Lifting the Silence march in September raises awareness about suicide. Our special events raise awareness about our programs.
The Support Network is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors. Opportunities exist to participate in the agency as a board member. See a list of our current Board members.
On an annual basis, The Support Network holds a special event luncheon, the Theresea Comrie Champagne Luncheon at the Fairmont Hotel Macdonald. Involvement by volunteers continues to bring success to this fundraiser, and brings new support to the organization every year. Volunteers are involved in organizing the events and soliciting sponsors and donors.
Annually, The Support Network depends on the success of our Corporate Campaign by involving volunteer ambassadors to solicit corporate sponsors and donors.
Every two years The Support Network recruits a crew of able volunteers to work a casino. Proceeds from this event fund The Support Network programs.
