Denial: "It must have been an accident."
Shock: "I can't believe this."
Fear: "Will they try again? What if I say something wrong?"
Anger: "How could they do this to me?"
Shame: "What will others think?"
Guilt: "What could I have done differently?"
Blame: "Who was at fault?"
Minimize: "They're just trying to get attention"
Avoidance: "Let's pretend this didn't happen."
These feelings are normal. It's important to talk about them.
Most people who attempt suicide can get through the crisis with the support of family and friends.
