Family Violence Intervention

Unfortunately, family violence is an issue that is far too common. This 2-day workshop teaches concrete strategies for responding to abusive situations to those working in the helping professions.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of the workshop, participants will:

  • Identify different types of abuse, risk factors for violent relationships, and clues and warning signs
  • Describe the Cycle of Abuse and how it relates to your clients
  • Demonstrate the steps involved in the violence risk assessment
  • Identify community resources and effective strategies around action planning

 Pre-requisites

None required. It is helpful if the participant has some background or basic understanding of communication skills.
