The Support Network offers education and training workshops to give those in the community the resources to de-escalate crisis, work through stress, and help their peers in times of need.

Education and Training

Suicide, abuse, and family violence are difficult issues to deal with. Our Education Services team offers an ever evolving selection of workshops to support you in your role in helping others.

By understanding the underlying problems, and the way they manifest in behavior, you’ll be better prepared next time a crisis happens to you, your family, your employees, or your clients.


Individual & Group Workshops

For groups interested in training, on-site bookings are available for any of our workshops, or you can work with the Education Services team to build a customized workshop that is just right for you.

Group workshops can be offered at your workplace, at The Support Network's training facilities, or in another location of your choosing.


Registration Information

  • Workshops must be registered for online using our registration system
  • Credit card or Paypal account is required to make payment
  • Registration by telephone and fax are no longer available

Payment by Cheque

If you do not have access to a credit card for the online registration process, you may pay by cheque by choosing one of the following forms:

  • Agency Registration Form - use to register and pay by cheque for 2 or more attendees for any ONE workshop date (maximum of 8 per agency per workshop)
  • Individual Registration Form - use to register and pay by cheque for only 1 attendee for one or more workshops

  • Please make your cheque out to The Support Network; do not send cash in the mail
  • Mailing in your registration and payment does not guarantee your registration - if the workshop is full, you will be contacted to choose an alternate date
  • This is a slower method for registration; online registration allows you to view the remaining number of seats available and ensures immediate registration
  • Confirmation of registration will be emailed to you at the email address you provide.

Cancellation & Refund Policy

The Support Network requires a minimum of one week notice of cancellation to receive a refund of registration fees for in-house workshops. Failure to attend for any reason does not constitute notice of cancellation and no refund will be issued. A small processing fee may apply for online credit card and Paypal refunds.

If more than one week notice is provided, the registrant may receive a refund; provide the name of another person who will attend in their place; or re-register for the same workshop on another date.

If an in-house workshop is cancelled by The Support Network, registrants will be contacted by telephone and/or email and given the choice to reschedule for the same workshop on another date; register for a different workshop, with any difference in fees being paid by the registrant or refunded by The Support Network; or receive a refund of fees.


Certificate Eligibility Requirements

Certificates of completion will be issued to participants who attend the full 7 or 14 hours of training at the 1-Day and 2-Day Suicide Intervention Training workshops.  Please ensure your full name is spelled correctly and legibly printed on the workshop sign-in sheet to receive your certificate. Attendance certificates for all other workshops will be issued upon request.

Please note that punctuality is essential, as participants who are unable to attend the full length of the workshop for any reason will not be issued a certificate for partial attendance.

If you have lost or misplaced your certificate of completion, there will be a $10.00 replacement fee to re-issue a certificate. Please contact us at 780-482-0198 to arrange for payment and requests for replacement certificates. You will be asked to provide the date and the name of the workshop you attended.
