The holidays are meant to be a time of peace, joy and happiness. We spend time with family, reflect on the good we have in our lives and look forward to the months to come. Often though, the holiday season can leave individuals feeling stressed and isolated.
Depression, loneliness, work-stress, problems in the home or worrying about someone else can leave people feeling helpless, hopeless and overwhelmed during what is supposed to be a wonderful time of year.
This December, it is estimated that the Crisis Support Centre will help close to 1500 individuals in crisis. We offer peace amidst the storm so that individuals and families can move beyond crisis.
But we can't do it alone. With your support, we can help individuals and families deal with situations that no one should go through alone. This holiday season, we ask that you consider making a Gift of Peace:
• A gift of $50 answers one call on the Distress Line
• A gift of $100 provides one counselling session for someone who has lost a friend or loved one to suicide
• A gift of $500 provides in-depth training for one volunteer who commits 100 hours of service to the Distress Line
Your Gift of Peace can help change a person's life forever:
"The listener was kind and they gave me the gift of their time to listen to me. They let me cry, they supported me and they helped me figure out how I was going to get through the night. I am so glad we have a Distress Line - it has definitely been a real help!" -Distress Line Caller
Your Gift of Peace ignites hope, strength and solutions to crisis situations. Wishing you a warm and peaceful holiday season.
