Donate to The Support Network

All of the donations we receive go directly to the Crisis Support Centre, where we’re able to do the most for those in crisis in our community. We rely on the generosity of our donors to keep this service available, but we’re still working to build our capacity to a point where we never need to put anyone on hold.

Through your donations our Crisis Support Centre offers immediate, no-fee counselling to low income individuals and it allows us to actively speak out for those touched by suicide.

The Crisis Support Centre helps more than 70,000 individuals, families, and community organizations each year through crisis prevention services, community information, referral, and training.

Without donor support from our community none of this would be possible.

Your contribution helps us build hope for the future.

There are lots of ways you can help The Support Network, but annual or monthly donations are most helpful. They help us plan our budget, and give us confidence in our operations for the entire year.

About one-third of our annual budget is derived through fundraising, so gifts of any amount are always appreciated. Any gift of $20 or more is eligible for an income tax receipt.

Monthly or Annual Giving

Monthly and annual gifts help us plan our budget and give us confidence in our operations for the year. If you are interested in donating to The Support Network, you may want to consider the following:

  • Matching gifts – Some companies will match charitable donations made by their employees.
  • Group giving – Your service club, workplace, alumni, etc. may want to consider making a contribution as a group.
  • One-Time gifts – you can make a one-time gift to The Support Network any time.

Planned Giving

Planned giving ensures that The Support Network is there to assist future generations.

Planned giving is tax-smart. It’s a way of planning your donations so that you can support the charities that are important to you while gaining significant tax benefits. The gift may be a one-time donation, a series of payments over a set period of time, or ongoing support. It may be for use now, deferred for the future, or a combination of both.

Planned gifts help The Support Network:

  • Create and enhance our programs for clients
  • Establish and maintain community connections
  • Expand resources and improve our facility
  • Respond to the needs of our community

Your donation options are:

  • Pledges – by pooling your annual donations, you can pledge them, over time, as substantial gifts to The Support Network. Download the pledge form here.
  • Endowment Fund – you can make a contribution to The Support Network's endowment fund, or you can start an endowment named after your family or loved one.

  • Bequest – leaving a legacy can be as simple as naming The Support Network in your will or estate plan. It is one of the simplest planned gifts to arrange and can significantly reduce the tax paid by your estate upon your death.

  • Life Insurance – you can name The Support Network as a beneficiary in a new or existing insurance policy.

  • RRSP or RRIF – you can name The Support Network as a beneficiary to an RRSP or RRIF.
  • Securities, Stocks, Bonds and Mutual Funds - Securities, stocks, bonds and mutual funds can be transferred to The Support Network.

The options you choose may depend on your unique circumstances and financial objectives.  Talk to your financial planner and/or lawyer about the options you want to consider.
